Tuesday, June 29 has come and nearly gone with no results yet from the PET scan of last Friday. But in an effort to report what is known - The first bloodwork drawn at our family doc (June 9) showed a CEA (tumor marker specific to colorectal cancer) level of 18 against a normal of 4. More recently, bloodwork taken by our oncologist on June 23 shows a CEA level of 11.5, but without giving a normal range. So while it may look good, we really need to know what the range is so that we make an accurate comparison.
I am a little put out about this port thing. Despite the tightness of the skin (owing to the Dermabond "glue" used to close the incision), it feels as though this thing is about to fall out. Very unnerving. Otherwise, a good day at work, good eating toninght, and now on to resting a bit. Maybe tonight the Nats can even it up with the Braves (our other team).
By the way, in case any of you are wondering . . . the watermelons this season are most delicious.
